No shame, No gain

Here's a shout out to all of my fellow dumpster divers (and you know who you are)!

The song we raise in chorus
You are so beautiful to me
Can't you see
You're everything I hoped for
You're everything I need
You are so beautiful to me

My husband does our dumpster diving for us. He calls it "newspaper recycling bin gathering" out of a bit of shame, BUT we have huge stockpiles of free items as a result of his efforts.

Kelly I need your opinion/advice on something.
At Publix yesterday the CSM wouldn't take my Pork/Beef/Charcoal coupons because they "can only take one manufacturer coupon for charcoal". I explained they all weren't for charcoal, but different items, so then he decided that I should have to buy a bag of charcoal for each coupon.
What would you say to a cashier/manager that told you that?

If I were you I would email Publix and tell them what happened. I would also contact the main store manager directly and explain to him that the CSM doesn't understand how the coupons work. You only have to buy one bag of charcoal; all of the other coupons bounce off of the one bag that you bought (so to speak). One of the coupons is for Beef wyb charcoal, one of them is for Pork wyb charcoal and one of them is for the charcoal itself. It's pretty simple.

Once you have spoken to the District Manager for your area then you can reference him/her in your conversations. For example, if you have a problem again, you can say, "I will call "insert DM's name" and talk to him about the deal.

Are you local to Nashville. If so, you can tell the CSM and the local manager that I have walked the District Mgr. for TN through this deal and he understands it and is familiar with it. If he doesn't have a problem with it then they shouldn't either.

PS - Not that the DM would have a problem with it as it is a proper use of the coupons.

PPS - what store did you have a problem at?

Thanks, I thought we were right about the use of those coupons, but I didn't know how to explain it.

When I've written Publix before it was the store manager that called me back.
I might have to find out who the DM is and call him/her.

I'm in north Georgia.
