Jason and I went out to eat at our favorite Persian restaurant last night (Hot Kabobs on White Bridge Road). We love their food but we were saddened to hear that they are going to be closing this weekend (the casual dining segment has been hit hard during these economic times). We have seen three of our favorite ethnic restaurants close this year and there are only five in town that we really like.
Go ahead.....you can shed a tear for us.
After dinner, we made a quick stop at the Harris Teeter in West End since we were in the neighborhood. We had an unbelieveably good trip as the register took $10 off of our order because of some point promotion deal that they are doing through the end of this month. Our balance was $1 (which is the lowest balance that I have ever had at Harris Teeter).
MONEYMAKERS
$10 off at the register because we reached 200 points (cashier indicated that the promotion was ending in March). I have no idea how this promotion works but you should check your receipts to see if you are close to the 200 points (look at the bottom where it says "Nashville points)" as it may make a difference in your triple coupon shop this week. Again, I have no idea how this promotion works so if you know then please post in the comments section.

I also got the $10 off when I went to HT yesterday and was confused at first but now I remember seeing signs in the store that advertised $10 off for every $200 in groceries that you purchase. I guess you get 1 point for every dollar that you spend and when you get to 200 points, you get $10 off.
Hi Daphne. Thank you so much for commenting. I appreciate the information. Hope to see you on here more!
I just read that the "Nashville points" is a promotion that is only for the Nashville area. Check your last receipt for Harris Teeter to see if you are close to 200 points. The promotion started in January and runs through March 30th.
I missed the Dole frozen fruit. I will have to go and get some now! Thanks!
Glad you got your fruit. :) I had to go to CVS to get some Ensure for my grandmother with my q's expiring tomorrow and so I swung in to see how HT looked. None of the things i wanted were in, I did get like, three things. lol. The cashier was inspecting my coupons and might as well have had a magnifying glass on them as he handed me back five that said "do not double", that I didn't even SEE on there it was so tiny. *sigh* Now I remember why I gave up HT.
Man! I just looked at my receipt, thinking I had finally beat you. But no. I spent 2.72, saving 96%. I'll try harder next time, I promise. :) Also, there was a coupon for .55 off 2 dole cans--making mandarin oranges a great deal. So I got some. Did you? If not, I guess I've given you fair warning to go get some tonight. Also, I went to hwy96 HT on Sunday afternoon, and they had restocked a lot and had everything I had wanted to get that was sold out on Fri. :)
Lisa, you would have beaten me if it weren't for the mystery $10 that came off my total. I'll consider myself beaten or you can beat me up when you see me. LOL.
no, no. $10 surprise savings is fair and square. So I'll just beat you up. :)
Earthy, *sigh* I really am sorry that you had that kind of experience at Harris Teeter. I just can't step into the Brentwood store.

trina, I picked up some more of that awesome fruit. I can't wait to make some smoothies this summer.
