QUICK SHOP - Monday, 6/29/09

I asked Jason to make a quick stop at Publix to pick up some Bounty paper towels. I couldn't pass up .25 a roll. I saw a few other moneymakers to sweeten the deal tonight.

I've included the Kool Aid deal in this post so that you can see the price of your sugar options when you go to the store. I only used the $1/1 Food Lion Q (tearpad) in this deal because I had a $5/50 competitor coupon to pick up the slack from the price of the Kool Aid.

Here's the deal:
6 Raid $3.89 ea ($2/1 Q & $2/1 Publix Q = FREE+)
4 Reach Mint Floss $1.49 ea ($1/1 Q & $1/1 Publix Q = FREE+)
2 Reach Floss $1.49 ea ($1/1 Q & $1/1 Publix Q = FREE+)
3 Light brown $.85 ea ($1 off FL sugar wyb 5 Kool Aid = FREE+)
1 Dark brown $.85 ea ($1 off FL sugar wyb 5 Kool Aid = FREE+)
1 Powder sugar $.85 ea ($1 off FL sugar wyb 5 Kool Aid = FREE+)
1 Vanilla Wafer $1.99 ea (penny item = .01)
1 Sugar Can $1.15 ea ($1 off Food Lion sugar wyb 5 Kool Aid = .15 ea)
16 Bounty Paper Towels $1.25 ea (.25/1 Q & .50/1 Target Q = .25 ea)
$5/50 competitor coupon

TOTAL: $81.71
TOTAL AFTER COUPONS: $4.89
(.69 balance and $4.20 in tax)
SAVINGS: 94%

NOTE: some of the coupons for the Raid came from the Summertime Savings booklet and some of them came from the Yellow Advantage flyer. The floss coupon also came from the Summertime Savings booklet and the 6/14 SS.

NOTE: My total after coupons always includes my tax. Just an FYI...

Where did you find the Food Lion sugar coupons?

starbucksgirl said...

Mandi, I found them at Food Lion. We stopped at a couple of Food Lion stores on the way back from our trip to Atlanta. Just plugged them into the GPS and they were right off the freeway. We got several tearpad coupons that were all moneymakers. It was worth the stop. I have never done that before. Kathy Lott went to Food Lion about a month ago and told me that she scored some great coupons so I had to try it for myself.

Mandi, keep in mind that there is a $2 off sugar wyb 10 Kool Aid packets in the 6/21 SS that you can also use. I am going to combine that coupon with the Food Lion Q to make it a moneymaker.

FL is about a mile from my house and I rarely shop there, but I always cruise it for q's :)

oh and I have the raid and floss on my list for tomorrow's shop all ready to go! :)

No wonder I couldn't find it! Thanks for the info.

Great job! I was just bragging about you and Jason to my hubby (about plugging in the grocery stores in the GPS). He's impressed!:) Thanks for the tips on the sugar prices and the reach floss.

There is also another money maker with the Apple & Eve organic juice. $1.00 from the Summer Savings Book and $.50 MQ from the Greenwise Mag. It makes about $.61 overage. Hope that helps. Thanks as always for the inspiration!!!

Where's the paper towel q's?

kelli said...

So where did you get the q's for the paper towels?

starbucksgirl said...

Anon and Kelli, the Bounty paper towel coupons came from two separate inserts:

.50/1 Target Q (6/21/09 SS)
.25/1 Q (6/7/09 PG)

Have a great day!

Bethany, thanks for the comment. I bought those Apple & Eve juices while in Atlanta (see my 6/28 post). They are a smokin' hot deal! Thanks for watching my back though; I always appreciate those hot tips.

I was wondering about purchasing q's off of ebay. Do you buy from a particular seller? I've looked at them, but I've been scared that I would end up with fake coupons. How do you know who to trust?

starbucksgirl said...

Tara, the sellers on ebay are pretty reputable. Just check their feedback. I buy from all of them and have never had a problem.

Alert! :) Good deal, expires today! Clorox Greenworks dishwashing detergent- $2/1 mq from Greenwise stacked with $1/1 flip from Home and Earth (expires today) makes $.50 overage each as they're on advantage buy for 2.50! :)

Brandy. Thanks for the heads up! I was going to look at the Greenworks products the next time I went to Publix but now I don't have to; you've already snooped out the best deal to use those coupons on. I have several of those $1/1 flips that I got last weekend. I'll throw those in on my next transaction (Jason is going tonight).

no problem! :) everything else is priced b/w 2.99 and 3.79- so go for the detergent.

Hey, I also found some save $2 on Butcher's Brand beef wyb Kingsford charcoal q's at Food Lion- trade you for some koolaid q's? LOL! I can't find the koolaid ones. I did grab a bunch of the beef ones- they don't expire until 10/09, so I will save some for you. (They do say "one per transaction, per customer, per day" etc... on them

do you still need the Keith Urban booklets? I have ten for ya. (Did you see charcoal is 6.99 next week! woohoo!)

Earthy Mama said...

btw, while in Atlanta, we did the GPS thing too! looking for Publix's hehehe. (well, actually, Doug did it. I was shocked, I didn't even ask, he just said, oh look, there's about ten close to here, how many do you want to go to? You could've knocked me over with a feather- he hates tagging along on my deal trips b/c he gets left in the car with the kids) :D

oh- another good dealio- the Reach floss- if you go to coupons.com and enter zipcode 19543, it produces a printable q for Listerine $2/1. Well, when you print this out, it actually says, "$2/1 Listerine OR (and it lists a bunch of things...) Reach floss"
So stacked with the summertime savings q and you get $1.51 overage each!

Brandy, thanks for your posts. In answer to your questions:

1. I don't need the Keith Urban books anymore. I bought 120 $4/1 Kingsford coupons online today. :)

2. I can send you a few of the Kool Aid coupons but I am going to need the rest of them for the charcoal deal this summer.

3. I also found the $2 on Butcher's Brand beef wyb Kingsford charcoal Q's so I don't need any but thanks for thinking of me.

4. I did see that charcoal is $6.99 next week. I was pretty excited about that too.

5. Jason told me to ask you if you can come and get your Morningstar stuff that's in our freezer (or let us know if you want us to give it to someone else). Our freezer space is limited right now and he wants more room for our FREE pork/beef. LOL. Just let me know.

6. Thank you so much for the tip on the printable $2/1 Reach Q. That's awesome.

Ok, I'm tired tonight. Need to go and get some rest. I'm nursing an allergic reaction to something that's been stirring outside and I can feel a sinus infection coming on. I'm worn out this week and need to get some rest before my parents come into town on Thursday.

Over and out. XXOO
Kelly

Lol about the freezer space! hehehe
Yep- I'll be down there on Friday- will that be in time enough to come by and get it? Are there any other q's you're hunting for I might have? I'll bring the $2 Crystal Light one. :)

Earthy Mama said...

oh and a $4/1 q?? Holy cats! rofl!!!

Kelly,
Just wanted to say how excited I was to find the $1.00 peelies for the Pepperidge Farm last night! We were up in the city for a tennis match and my hubby said there was a Publix around the corner..wanna go? OF COURSE!! Anyway...I was able to snag 5 of them to use today! Thanks for the heads up!!!

starbucksgirl said...

Brandy, Friday will be great. What time were you thinking? My parents will be here and we will probably go out sometime on Friday but I can always leave you a key.

I thought you would laugh about the $4/1. We plan on buying a bunch of charcoal this summer. We could open a BBQ store (seriously).

I don't think I need anything else but thank you for offering. I think I'll stop by the Food Lion near my house to day to see what else I can find. I'll keep you posted. :)

Bethany, I'm stoked that you found the Pepperidge Farm peelies. My friend Carissa told me about that deal and I was pretty excited to find them too. I love their Sourdough bread and have been eating it for breakfast every day since I bought it. Yum, yum.

FREE Pepperidge Farm Bread
FREE Land O Lakes spreadable butter
FREE Ginger preserves
= a whole lotta love
