I went to Rite-Aid on Sunday to do a quick shop and while I was there I saw a few more deals that were not listed in the national ad. I found the Edge Gel for $.99 cents and the Electrasol on sale for $2.99 with a $2 UP Reward. I was almost out of Electrasol so I was ecstatic to find this sale (please note that the Edge Gel and the Electrasol are only on sale in No. Cal and So. Cal stores). I went to several different Rite-Aids over a 2 hour period so that I wouldn't stock out any of the stores and I did 11 separate transactions. It was a bit of a whirlwind but since I can't obtain most of these items for FREE anymore from my local Publix I decided that it was worth it to stock up on dishwashing detergent, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and diapers. Most of these items will last for the whole year so it was well worth the two hours spent. I didn't have to clip very many coupons for these shops so it was a fairly easy deal.
The below scenarios assume that you will be rolling UP Rewards into your transaction. My shops do not provide every scenario possible nor do they provide every coupon available for each item. For more coupon information please go to southernsavers.com.

TOTAL: $508.31
TOTAL AFTER COUPONS: $34.96 ($14.25 + $20.71 tax = $34.96)SAVINGS: 93%
NOTE: I earned $19.38 in extra UP Rewards after my transaction so I actually only paid about $15 out of pocket. I've included a picture of the $128 Inside Clip & Save booklet that you are supposed to get when you get a flu shot. You can also just go up and request a booklet. Just make sure you print off the website page that indicates that there is no purchase necessary. I had to show the pharmacy this printout as they didn't want to give me a booklet. :)

NOTE: My balance is higher than normal but I had to pay quite a bit of tax on all of those items. Unfortunately, the UP Rewards do not apply to tax. :) Keep in mind that the TOTAL of $508.31 indicates what these items would have cost at full price at this drugstore. Most of these items were on sale and I used coupons on almost all of them; this is a prime of example of how to maximize a sale with coupons. These items might cost about $300 retail at Target or Walmart since drugstores charge quite a bit more than regular stores for these items. My balance of $34.96 would still be an 89% savings if I had purchased these items at Target or Walmart.
NOTE: Does anyone know if you can buy a Rite-Aid gift card with your UP Rewards? It says "no prepaid cards" on the receipt but I'm not sure if gift cards are considered pre-paid since you are actually loading them. Please leave a comment if you know the answer to this question. Thanks! I'd rather roll my UP Rewards into a gift card so that I don't have to pay anything out of pocket for my transactions. I'm certain that Brandy knows the answer to this question.

My Rite-Aid told me that I'm not allowed to do this. However, I think it will depend on your store/cashier.
Thrifty T....are you referring to paying for the gift card with UP Rewards? Thanks for the info. if that is what you are referencing.
Yes I am...sorry about that.
You're the bomb ;)
Thanks Dixie. I'm so glad that someone is benefitting from the info.!
I am new to couponing so it can be confusing at times as I read everyones posts. Are you using multiple coupons for the same item? For instance one coupon for every package of diapers. If so, how do you obtain so many of the same coupon. I am in SC and just trying to learn all I can. Thanks.
Anon, this blog is for the advanced couponer so I don't list out every scenario for my shops. You might want to start reading some of the posts on southernsavers.com or moneysavingmom.com to get started. They both have "newbie" sections to get you started with couponing. Thanks for stopping by.
I am using multiple coupons for the same item in many of these transactions. I have several computers so I am able to print mulitiples. Every computer allows you to print 2 of the same coupon. So, if you have 4 computers then you can print 8 of the same coupon.
