The Charcoal/Meat deal @ Publix...

UPDATE: The charcoal is no longer on sale; it is $9.79 @ my Publix. We did a new deal for the charcoal today (5/31) which I will post tomorrow.
My blogging friend Bethany was wondering how the charcoal/meat deal worked at Publix this week. Well this post is for you!

This is what you buy:
2 bags of charcoal @ $6.99 (on sale this week)
2 KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce @ $1.99
$25 in meat and/or produce (some of the meat must be pork; I usually buy the two smallest packages of pork)

Here's the coupons you use:
-$6 off Pork wyb any Kingsford 13.5 Lbs.+ and (1) other participating product printable (click on the picture on the right)
-$3 off Kingsford Charcoal “Summer is Here” Booklet at Publix (or buy them on EBAY)
- FREE KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce when you buy charcoal RP 5/10
- $1/$5 Beef Food Lion Q printable
- $5/$25 in meat and/or produce competitor coupon printable
- $5/$50 or $10/$40 competitor coupon (you need to find a source for these; I use several different ones that I either receive through the mail, or get out of the recycle bin, or buy off of ebay.

If you use all of the coupons above you will receive two bags of charcoal, 2 BBQ sauces, and $25 in meat and/or produce..........all for $3.00-$8.00. I usually throw in some moneymaker items to get all of my meat for free. Then I list my charcoal on craigslist and make $3.33 on each of the charcoal bags. So, I get my meat for free and I make a profit. LOL. You can use just the printables above and get the charcoal, bbq sauce and $25 in meat and/or produce for $19 (that's a savings of 50% since all of those items would cost $39 without the coupons). You can buy glad wrap (on sale for $1.00 a roll until Tuesday) instead of BBQ sauce (since it is a qualifying product also) and spend $18 instead of $19.

Hope that helps. Keep in mind that the Food Lion coupons and the $5/50 and the $5/25 coupons are all competitor coupons (just tell your cashier that they are competitor coupons so that they can be deducted by hand; i.e. they will not scan; they have to be entered manually). Publix takes grocery store competitor coupons.

Kelly,

I still can't find the $3 off coupon for Charcoal. I've been to two Publix, looked in all their ads (including Summer is Here) and still can't find it. The managers don't know what I'm talking about either. Help!!

Kristy, if you can't find them then you'll have to purchase some off of EBAY.

Thank you so much for breaking this down for me. :) Unfortunately, my Publix won't accept FL coupons anymore. They will accept the Rite Aid $5/$25 coupon though, so that helps.

When i try the ultimate grilling guide to get the 6 off meat. When I go to select the grocery store I can't find Publix.
Please help. Is there another name instead of publix.

Bethany, glad to help.

Anon, it used to be that you didn't need to select a grocery store. I'm not sure why they are asking you that question now. Probably for marketing purposes (but that's just a guess). You can just select any grocery store as the wording doesn't indicate that you have to use the coupon at that store. It just asks you where you shop.

Anonymous,

Yes, you can use two $6.00 off meat coupons. If you look at my previous posts you will see that I used two $6 off pork coupons and two $3 off charcoal, etc.

I am so glad that I stumbled upon your blog. I LOVE it!!!

My husband and I took advantage of this deal today and we were able to find the $6 coupons by going to the site and typing publix into the address bar where the other grocery store name comes up (http://www.gatherroundthegrill.com/coupon.php?store=publix). Seems to be a way around it. We also picked up a ton of the booklets, but they were hidden on the back of the Aprons display by the food prep center. Also, our charcoal had coupons pasted to them for free Pam cooking spray. We also were able to pick up the glad wrap for free as it was 2/$2 and there were $1 off coupons in the summer is here booklet. I hope this helps anyone.

I haven't been able to find it in the Nashville area--any pointers, or are they all gone? I checked Moores Lane Publix thoroughly--no luck :(

Kel- LOL! about the rr's. :) I am going to go tomorrow and see how many of them came in. Someone said the warehouse was OUT!! And the last time I ordered some, they didn't all come in. I am going to get some of the Ecotrin (also a moneymaker with the $2 q from the paper two week ago) and see how many of the monitors came in. The manager that ordered them said if they didn't all come in last week (he was going to hold them in the office for me) he would reorder on Tuesday (they get trucks on Wednesday) and hopefully the rest would come in. I really, REALLY hope we get them all in!! I will keep you posted. :) And thanks again for digging all those out and sharing them!!

Oh, and I am going to stock up on seafood (frozen) with my rr's!! We do eat seafood, and I can sometimes work it into my scenarios, but otherwise we can't afford to buy it. So seafood, here I come.
