Jason just returned from the Publix at Concord and Nolensville Road. Apparently, they changed their competitor coupon policy today.
Here is what they are taking:
GFS
Walgreens
Whole Foods
Kroger
While I am excited that they are taking Walgreens Q's now I am a little sad that they are no longer taking HG Hill, Target or Food Lion Q's. Jason spoke with one of the Assistant Managers and he was told that the policy was reviewed recently at this store and it just changed today. If I were you I would still plan a shop and test out this "new" policy by using a few Food Lion or Target Q's. Even if the policy has changed they will most likely let you use the coupons one more time while they are giving you a warning.
Please come back here and post your results if you shop at this store. I'm a little bummed as this is the store that I shop at these days because it is so close to my house and the Nipper's store has an insane coupon policy so I don't go there anymore.
I feel the winds of change coming........but let's hope it's just a seasonal wind.

Yesterday I shopped at the Concord Publix. The lady from the customer service desk (whom I see all the time) came over to my register and watched every coupon the lady scanned. She would not allow me to use any coupons that would cause overage. She acted as if it were illigal or something. She had a 'tude in a big way. Last week when I was there, she was at the customer service desk. I asked for two rain checks and to correct a couple of coupons that were rung up as .01 instead of $1. You would have thought I was asking her give me the groceries for free! What is up with this store? Is it just me?
Cindy, do you know the name of the woman at the customer service desk that you dealt with?
This particular store has recently been more careful with accepting coupons. From what I understand their manager is driving this new change. They are reviewing every coupon that is given to them and some of the cashiers are friendlier than other cashiers at this store. You should talk directly with the store manager at the store about the issue with overage. He may not understand how coupons work or he may be unaware that his staff is doing this.
I have not had many problems at Concord. There is only one cashier that I have encountered that gave me a hard time about the $3/2 Johnson & Johnson coupon a few months ago. It was the Asian lady that is in her mid 50's and she didn't want to allow me to use the coupon on the $.79 cent band-aids. I told her that I could use it on that product and I told her to call Emily over (the really nice customer service girl) and Emily told her that it was ok. The cashier did not like this because it was going to provide overage. I have had some run-ins with this particular cashier but no other issues lately.
I am not sure of the name of the lady at the customer service desk but I will look this week when I go. She is there every Monday. The Asian lady is the cashier I encountered this past week. The J & J coupon is the one that she first refused to let me use. That was what brought the customer service lady to her checkout. Now I know to avoid her!
I will talk with the manager about my concerns and the "not so friendly" employees I have recently encountered. Thanks for your advice!
I had a problem yesterday with that particular cashier as well. I tried to use the Knox $4 coupon off of the gelatin. It clearly says ANY knox product, but because it wasn't in the picture she wouldn't let me use it. I will NEVER get in her line again. I didn't want to argue with her so I just had her void it and let it go. I have never had an issue with this store before, usually they are so coupon friendly. By the way when I asked what competitor coupons they were taking they told me Kroger and Walgreens. No GFS or Whole Foods. By the way I got lots of overage yesterday by using the 55/2 Rotel coupon blinkie with the Advantage store ad 75/2. I got .10 of overage on every can. I'm going back today for more.
Hey Jennifer. Nice to hear from you. If you are having problems with that cashier then I would email corporate to let them know that you usually have a good experience at this store, however, this particular cashier likes to make up her own rules. LOL.
I miss conversing with you guys so it was nice to see your post. Have a great day!
